BSXCaravan 2009


This third edition of BSXCaravan 2009 took place on the 3rd/4th October and 10th/11th October 2009. The initiating Duo Ueda Offermans had invited several guest artists for BSXCaravan 2009: Mayumi Isshiki (modern dance) , Eiko Watanabe –La Eiko (Flamenco dance) and Annelinde de Jong (visual art). About the guest artists 2009


Mayumi Isshiki: contemporary dance
Mayumi Isshiki: contemporary dance
After graduated from Japan Women Gymnastic University, she moved to US to study at Martha Graham Contemporary Dance School and perform solo as well as collaboration with different disciplines. In 1994, she received the diploma as a breathing therapist by the advanced course of Michael Sky in US. Beside her activities as a dancer, she opened her ‘Healing and Stretch’ school in Matsuyama, Ehie-ken and giving workshops with the theme ‘Breath, Heart and Body’. In 2007 she created ‘Mayumi Isshiki Dance Research Instite’ and a dance theatre ‘Kaze-no-Odori-za’.

At her young age, she has studied classic ballet and rhythmic gymnastics. In 1996 she started to learm flamenco dance in Kobe and in 1998 she moved to Jerez de la Frontera and later to Sevilla, Spain. Her teachers are famous flamenco dancers e.g. Angelita Gomez, Farrquito, Torombo, Juana Amaya, Concha Vargas, Angelita Vargas. She has participated as ‘Zapateo’ (feet sound) in the recording ‘Un Ratito Mas’ by Mauy y Los sirenidos and received the prize Musica del Independiente in 2009. At this moment she is teaching Flamenco dance at the famous school of the flamenco guitarist Emilio Maya in Granada.


Annelinde de Jong - visual art
Annelind de Jong: visual arts
Graduated Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam in 2007, majoring in painting and at this moment continues studying at Brussels. Her works focuses on collage using various materials. At this moment she is most interested in the theme of mystery and symbolism. She is giving lesson for painting and illustration. She was the BSXCaravan participator in 2007.
